Ever wonder why you do what you do? We all have weird quirks and habits. Some habits or behavioral patterns are more noticeable than others and some are more detrimental than others. When do those habits become a problem? When do we need to try to change those instinctual behavioral patterns? When do these patterns hold us back or weigh us down? And more importantly, where do they even come from?? Have you ever tried breaking a bad habit? I’ll be honest, it.is.hard. Like, really hard. Almost impossible! It takes patience and work. Let me break it down for you according to metamorphic technique -- these behavioral patterns are not random. They do not form late in childhood, adolescence or adulthood. They are formed early on (probably even earlier than you would think) and continue to repeat themselves throughout each of our life cycle, adjusting themselves to fit perfectly into the period of life that we find ourselves.
According to the metamorphic technique, all of our quirks, habits, behavioral & instinctual patterns develop way before you can even imagine! It all starts in the womb. The nine months of gestation are way more significant than you may have thought. As well as developing all of the organs, senses, and bodily functions, the experiences of the mother and father are absorbed and ingrained into the developing and ambitious fetus. Some even say pre-conception has a large impact as well. In other words, the intentions, thoughts, desires, and motives of the father and mother before conception affect the future fertilized egg.
MET·A·MOR·PHO·SIS :: (in an insect or amphibian) the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more distinct stages.
A change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means
The metamorphic technique focuses primarily on the spinal reflexes on the feet, hands and head. The spinal reflex is divided into the nine months of gestation, as well as, the pre-conception period. Each period of gestation is represented by behavioral patterns, habits, and feelings.
The following are the six stages that represent the pre-conception and months of gestation, along with terms/ideas that relate to that stage:
1. Pre-conception: Preparation, intention, planning & thought
2. Conception: Connection, meeting, partnership & journey.
3. Growth & Development: Commitment to life and presence in it, building, growing, expanding, attention & rooting.
4. Movement & kicking: Attention, space, listening & communication
5. Maturation: Development, preparation, patience, waiting, quiet & time.
6. Labor & birth: Transitions, changes, separation & renewal.
Let’s look at the 6th stage, labor and birth. The birth period is located on the reflexes of the sacrum and coccyx, or tailbone. This period is related to the ideas of transitioning, changes, separation, and renewal. If there is some sort of trauma for the mother or baby during the labor and birth experience then behavioral patterns can develop in the child in the future. These patterns can continue into adulthood if never resolved. One example of a behavioral pattern that can develop during this stage and can be observed in many children is difficulty in transitioning. Transitioning from waking up to getting dressed, from getting dressed to breakfast time, from leaving the house to going to school, from leaving school to go home, and so forth. Many parents (some more than others) can relate to this difficulty in transitioning. Like I mentioned before, this idea of transitioning is related to the 'labor and birth' period in the metamorphic technique. If you think about it, this makes perfect sense... Birth is the ultimate transition and it can be quite traumatic both for baby and mother. Some babies have no problem transitioning from in utero to the outside world. However, with some babies, it will seem like they are taking their precious time and don't seem to ever want to come out! They may descend and then ascend...descend... ascend... etc. They are unable to fully make the smooth transition. The example I have given relates strongly to the pre-school age. However, just as I have mentioned before, these behavioral patterns (specifically, difficulty in transitioning) will manifest itself into adulthood if not resolved. The labor and birth stage also relates to the first three months of the baby’s life.
This technique is openly discussed with the client and involves the mother/father's participation (if allowed and permitted). With permission, I will ask a few questions to the mother of the client about the pregnancy and the first three months. The idea is to pinpoint what stage the behavioral pattern began and use light touch metamorphic techniques to help resolve and release from instinctual patterns that may be holding us back. What behavioral patterns are holding you back? Do you feel stuck in an area in your life? Love to hear any comments or questions you have!
Woh this is so cool. My labor was sooooo long with my oldest daughter and she definitely has major transition problems. Thank you for sharing this information! Would love to hear more about the other stages. This is very interesting and well written.
Wow. This is amazing. I had no idea, but like you said totally makes sense.
