What is the process of getting sick?
How do we get there?
How do we get out of it?
How can we build ourselves back up again?
To get better you may, first, have to get worse.
The Process of Disease Penetration:
How does disease or illnesses penetrate, invade, and take over our body?
The first stage of disease penetration is leaving a healthy and suitable lifestyle. This can be caused by lack of sleep, poor diet, lack of physical activity, bad environment, toxins overload, etc…
There are four stages that we will go through:
The energetic stage
The acute stage
The chronic stage
The degenerative stage
Read on to learn about each stage.
STAGE 1: THE ENERGETIC STAGE:
There may not be any physical pain. Some warning signs may be: “It is very hard for me to digest this”; “There is no air in my lungs”; “I can’t listen to this”; “I can’t take it anymore”; “I am scared”; and/or “I have no support”. If these emotions are not dealt with then the person will reach stage 2: the acute stage.
STAGE 2: THE ACUTE STAGE:
Acute pain will begin to develop. The “It is very hard for me to digest this” can become digestive pains; the “I am scared” may become an imbalance in the kidneys; the “I have no support” can turn into back pain. This would be a good point to listen to your body. Figure out what the pain is, where it is coming from, and how to fix the problem.
STAGE 3: THE CHRONIC STAGE:
If nothing is done during the acute stage for a long time, the acute pain will turn into chronic pain. Those sporadic acute pains in the back can turn into chronic back pain. Chronic pain is debilitating and the person may feel lost, discouraged, and overwhelmed by the chronic pain. When the chronic pain is so long-lasting, the person will begin stage 4: the degenerative stage.
STAGE 4: THE DEGENERATIVE STAGE:
Chronic, long-lasting pain on the body pays a toll. The brain will begin to disconnect from the area because it will no longer be able to deal with the constant pain. The person may begin to lose abilities that s/he didn’t know they had. Movement will be very slow, incomplete, and not good enough. An example: A poor range of motion in the neck that the person is not even aware of. When asked if there is any neck pain, the person may reply that their neck is fine and there is no pain.
In regards to reflexology, this can be seen as calluses on the foot. The picture to the left shows callous on the big toe, which is the neck reflex.
How can we go from the degenerative stage back to our once healthy self?
Like I said before:
To get better, you may, first, have to get worse.
The Process of Healing & Recovery:
STAGE 1: THE DEGENERATIVE STAGE:
The person will begin at the last stage of the disease penetration model. The brain is disconnected and may be unaware of the actual pain. Becoming aware/conscious of the condition is the first step.
STAGE 2: THE CHRONIC STAGE: The brain starts to become more aware of what is going on in the body and reconnects to itself. There will be some pain. This may be confusing as “new” pain will appear. In reality, it is not "new" pain, but rather, it is the pain that has been repressed and what the brain disconnected from. The process of recovery is beginning.
STAGE 3: THE ACUTE STAGE: Chronic pain will turn into the acute stage. Again, this is confusing to the person, but it is a good sign as we are nearing the end of the process. It is common for the person to become discouraged at the chronic and acute stages. The overwhelming pain that has resurfaced will feel like a kick in the stomach. The person may feel no progress is being made and they are just "getting worse". Healing can be a painful process and to reach full healing the person will have to go battle through war to get there.
STAGE 4: THE ENERGETIC STAGE: The person may respond to the pain in an emotional way. Anger, fear, sadness, and/or guilt may come up. The trick is to not push these emotions away. Experience them, take them all in, and learn tools to deal with those emotions.
The last & final stage: YOU MADE IT!! Building a healthy & suitable lifestyle
Give yourself a pat on the back. Seriously! You have been through hell and back through this journey. To get to this point is a real accomplishment and must be praised.
IMPORTANT: How will you preserve the healthy & suitable lifestyle that you have worked hard to build? What caused you to leave your healthy lifestyle in the past? What can you do to prevent that?
The process of healing is never an easy one. It is a process, which means that it takes time.
Patience is a virtue
